Mira-Pet Ultrasound is an advanced, gentle approach to maintaining your dog’s oral health at home. Unlike a conventional toothbrush that relies primarily on physical brushing, Mira-Pet uses soft ultrasound oscillations to assist with plaque and tartar removal and to help clean areas that can be difficult to reach with ordinary brushing.

The Mira-Pet system operates without the noise, rotation or vigorous vibration associated with many electric toothbrushes, making it a particularly gentle option for pets that may be nervous or sensitive during dental care. The manufacturer states that the ultrasound technology can work around the gumline and into areas between teeth and within gum pockets.

Key Benefits of Mira-Pet Ultrasound

Helps remove plaque and tartar through gentle ultrasound technology.
Supports healthier gums by helping reduce the bacterial build-up associated with gum inflammation.
Reaches difficult areas around the gumline and between teeth where conventional brushing can be challenging.
Silent and vibration-free in ultrasound mode, which can make dental cleaning less stressful for some pets.
Non-invasive home dental care that can be incorporated into a regular oral-health routine.
Helps maintain cleaner teeth between professional dental assessments.
May help improve bad breath by reducing plaque and bacterial accumulation.
Suitable for ongoing preventative dental care, particularly when combined with other measures such as appropriate dental products and regular professional checks.

Why Ultrasound?

Mira-Pet uses what the manufacturer describes as soft ultrasound, producing high-frequency oscillations without requiring the brush head to scrub aggressively against the teeth. The manufacturer's information distinguishes this from the harder ultrasonic equipment used for professional dental scaling.

For Australian Animal Oral Care, Mira-Pet can therefore be positioned as a supportive home-care tool for maintaining oral hygiene and managing plaque/tartar build-up, rather than as a replacement for veterinary dentistry.

Important: Mira-Pet does not replace a veterinary dental examination or professional treatment when significant dental disease, advanced tartar, periodontal disease, fractured teeth or painful oral conditions are present. Your veterinarian should assess pets with significant or advanced dental disease. Australian Animal Oral Care also recommends professional oral-health checks
