How to Introduce Teeth Brushing

If your pet is new to brushing, take it slowly and build a positive routine:

1. Put a small amount of toothpaste on your finger and let your pet taste it - build a positive association with the flavour
2. Let your pet sniff and explore the toothbrush before using it
3. Gently rub the brush around your pet's mouth and teeth without applying pressure at first
4. Say a consistent cue like "teeth time" - this helps pets anticipate and accept the routine
5. Gradually increase brushing duration as your pet becomes comfortable - even 30 seconds is a great start
